Terms of Service for Chess Studio

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. These Terms apply to all users of the App.

2. Description of Service

Chess Studio is a mobile application that allows users to:

• Fetch chess puzzles from Chess.com and Lichess
• Generate chess puzzle videos with animations and voice-over narration
• Save videos to their device's gallery
• Upload videos directly to YouTube (optional, with OAuth authorization)

3. User Responsibilities

• You must be at least 13 years of age to use the App.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your device and any accounts used with the App.
• You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• You agree not to attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or create derivative works of the App.

4. Intellectual Property

The App, including its code, design, and original content, is owned by Chess Studio and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Chess puzzles and related data retrieved from Chess.com and Lichess are the property of their respective owners and are used in accordance with their API terms.

Videos generated using the App are your property. The App grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

5. YouTube API Services

The App uses YouTube API Services to provide optional video upload functionality. By using this feature, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You can revoke the App's access to your YouTube account at any time via Google Security Settings.

6. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services:

• Chess.com API: For fetching chess puzzles. Subject to Chess.com Terms of Service.
• Lichess API: For fetching chess puzzles. Subject to Lichess Terms of Service.
• Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements. Subject to Google AdMob Terms.
• YouTube/Google API: For optional video uploads. Subject to YouTube Terms of Service.

7. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied. Chess Studio shall not be liable for any damages arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, third parties, or us.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the app developer operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
