Account Deletion Request — Chess Studio

Chess Studio ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and provides the following options for deleting your account and associated data.
Option 1: In-App Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the app:
- Open Chess Studio on your device.
- Go to the Settings tab (gear icon).
- In the YouTube Account section, tap "Delete Account Data".
- Confirm the deletion when prompted.
This will immediately:
- Revoke your Google OAuth tokens.
- Clear all stored YouTube account information (email, user ID, channel name, access tokens, refresh tokens).
- Clear locally cached upload history and analytics data.
Option 2: Request via Email
If you are unable to use the in-app option, you may request account deletion by emailing us:
Please include the following in your email:
- The subject line: "Account Deletion Request — Chess Studio"
- The email address associated with your Google/YouTube account.
- A brief description of your request.
We will process your request within 30 days and send a confirmation once complete.
Data Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- YouTube Account Data: Google user ID, email address, YouTube channel name, OAuth access tokens, and refresh tokens.
- Upload History: Records of videos uploaded to YouTube through the app.
- Analytics Data: Cached YouTube Analytics data fetched via the YouTube API.
Data Retained
The following data is not affected by account deletion because it is unrelated to your YouTube account or is anonymized:
- Chess.com / Lichess Usernames: These are stored locally and can be deleted by uninstalling the app or clearing app data via device Settings.
- App Preferences: Theme selections, video style preferences, and other settings stored locally on your device.
- Generated Videos: Videos saved to your device's gallery are not deleted. You can delete them manually from your gallery app.
- Advertising Data: Google AdMob collects anonymous advertising IDs independent of your account. Refer to the AdMob Privacy Policy for details.
- Anonymous Usage Statistics: Aggregated, anonymized analytics data that cannot be linked to your identity.
Retention Period
- Active Account Data: Retained as long as you use the YouTube linking feature. Deleted immediately upon in-app deletion or within 30 days of an email request.
- Backups: If we maintain service backups, residual data may persist for up to 90 days before being fully purged.
- AdMob Data: Governed by Google's retention policies. See the AdMob Privacy Policy.
